Go make your own Bacon!

Everybody loves bacon, I mean, who doesn’t?

Majority of us buys ready-to-cook bacon at the grocery stores. I know they’re pricey but we can’t just say no to those yummy strips. Well, I’ll share with you something that will save you half the money you spend on those packed bacon.

On my recent trip to JCentre Mall’s supermarket, I discovered that their meat section is selling “Bacon Strips”. I was like “Wow!”. (I know, I feel like I live in a box). The price for 1 kilo is Php208.00, cheap right?

But the question is, how will it taste bacon-y?

I am not a cooking expert, but I love to eat! Ergo, I need to explore. 😀 And since I’m already bragging to Ace that he’ll be tasting a yummy homemade bacon, I experimented with the ingredients available at home. (I was feeling confident that I could pull it off, teehee!)

Here they are:

Salt
Thyme (I used dried thyme from McCormick)
Worcestershire sauce
Black Peppermill
Honey
Knorr Liquid Seasoning

All I did was combine all those ingredients with the bacon of course. I can’t really tell how many tablespoons needed, I just used my instincts. (For the sake of having an excuse) But really, it’s just up to you how salty/sweet you want your bacon to taste like.

And the result? They love it! ^_^ I vowed to make my own bacon at home. It’s easy to prepare and it’s super budget friendly.

Bacon everyday? Why not? 😛
